Course overview
This course will provide you with the ability to operate these machines safely and in accordance with manufacturers’ instructions. You will also be taught how to carry out a pre-shift inspection, undertake minor adjustments, and perform routine services. The course includes theory lessons and practical demonstrations/exercises, which are highlighted by the use of OHP and videos, covering:
Introduction to the construction industryCurrent relevant regulationsIntroduction to the machinePre-shift inspectionsControls and attachments as well as coolant, fuel and lubrication systemsTrenching, back-filing, levelling and marking outDeep and shallow excavationNPORS assessment (theory and practical elements)Upon completion, the candidate will be issued an NPORS card.
