Course overview
This course would suit you if you enjoy working in a farm environment, but don't have any previous experience.

The Level 1 Farming study programme is very practical and you will develop skills and techniques in aspects of farming. This can be farming of livestock, crops or a mixed farm. You will also increase your knowledge as you build up a portfolio of evidence for your Diploma.

Study Programme Level 1 is also available in Land based operations where you will work on outdoor jobs and learn practical skills and knowledge in aspects of animal care, gardening, farming and environmental conservation.

What units will I study?

• Maintaining equipment and structures
• Providing care for the farm animals
• Maintaining animal accommodation
• Care of the crops
• Harvesting crops
• Transporting animals

What qualification will I gain?

• Level 1 Diploma in Agriculture
• Employability Skills
• Functional skills in Maths and English

How will I be assessed?

Your dedicated tutor will visit you frequently at your workplace. They will watch you working and help you to build a portfolio of evidence.
