Lead by our expert, this course will teach you how to graft apple trees, focusing on whip and tongue grafting.This course is a single day, five-hour practical course largely inside, but with some theory.It will deal with
tongue and groove grafting of apple treesthe collection, and storage of plant sources and after care.course content will also look at inserting pollinators into trees and discuss framework grafting.Attendees will, under guidance, practice safe knife control and cut both components of whip and tongue grafting and use of ties as well as wax to seal wounds.Participants will be able to take away at course end two bare-root grafted apple varieties to grow on in 2022. Those wishing to take trees away must bring a suitable bag to protect and take away the trees.
