Course overview
In association with Golf Ireland, CAFRE offers a Greenkeeping Cadetship programme. The programme is aimed at people aged 16-24 who have a keen interest in developing a career in greenkeeping. Golf Ireland supports two greenkeeping students annually with a generous financial bursary of £7,000 being paid incrementally throughout the year. Cadets are selected on the basis of competitive interview by a panel of Golf Ireland and CAFRE representatives. The Cadetship is a full-time programme completed over the course of one year. The candidates selected complete the City & Guilds Level 2 Diploma in Work-based Horticulture (Sports Turf Greenkeeper) programme and gain practical experience while working on the sports turf areas and campus grounds.
