Course overview
If landscaping is for you, this course will give you all of the practical skills you'll need. You'll be able to discover a variety of techniques that will enable you to carry out both grounds maintenance and practical landscaping.
At the same time, you'll also learn basic design concepts and how best to use materials. You'll be able to choose whether to use your skills in employment or to build on your knowledge through further training.
Course content
You can look forward to a varied programme of modules that also includes a work placement. You'll also continue your English and Maths up to GCSE level. Modules include:
Close board, panel and post and rail fencing
Laying and repairing of ornamental turf
Machinery use and maintenance
Planting and setting out to a plan
Site surveying and setting out measurements to a plan.
Work Experience
Study programmes include a minimum of compulsory work experience hours achieved through one day a week or block placements. The amount of hours required is dependent on the study programme.
