Lambing Techniques

Our Lambing Techniques course aims to update participants on pre-lambing preparation and organisation as a means of reducing lambing losses in early life. On completion of this course you will be able to:

Prepare yourself and the facilities and equipment for hygienic lambing

Recognise the physical and behavioural signs indicating the imminence of lambing

Identify the signs of normal and abnormal labour

Identify simple malpresentations and correct them

Decide when veterinary assistance must be obtained

Care for the newly-born lamb and the ewe immediately after lambing.
