Lantra/ NPTC CS30 – 2 days Chainsaw Maintenance & Safe Use to Crosscutting
Course overview
This course is intended for anyone who intends to use a chainsaw for business, domestic or leisure activities, but does not intend to work in forestry or arboricultural activities or work on Forest Enterprise land.
Correct protective clothing must be worn. A chainsaw complying with the pre course handout and an operator’s maintenance kit is needed by the trainee.

Legislation Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Safety and health features of a chainsaw Maintaining the saw chain Maintaining the guidebar Engine maintenance, Starting the chainsaw, Cross-cutting timber Stack timber
Course length
2 days 1 day refresher is available
Upon successful completion candidates will gain Lantra certification, or after a further independent NPTC assessment can gain NPTC certification CS30.
