Course overview
The Level 3 Award in Horse Handling and Behaviour in Equine Assisted Activities is a new blended part time course offered by CAFRE.

The course covers equine behaviour, welfare, horse handling and Health & Safety among other topics.

The course will run over six months and comprise of online live lectures (two per month) and one practical day at CAFRE Enniskillen Campus per month. The course will be delivered by CAFRE equine staff with input from a range of local equine assisted practitioners who are currently working in this field.

The course incorporates the accredited qualification Level 3 Award in Handling and Managing Horses in Equine Assisted Learning (Open College Network {OCN} London).

Who is the course for?

The course is aimed at those who are working or intend to work in the area of equine assisted activities.

Equine experience is a prerequisite and participants must be 19 years of age in line with OCN London guidelines. Ideally participants will have British Horse Society (BHS) Stage 2 or equivalent experience.
