Course overview
The Level 3 Extended Diploma in Agriculture is a full-time course with attendance at College over three days per week, with the remainder of the week spent at a suitable work placement. This course is suitable for those who wish to progress to running the family farm or who wish to gain employment at a more senior level within agriculture.The Level 3 City and Guilds College Extended Diploma is made up of 180 credits.A 90 credit Diploma will be completed in year 1 and the full Extended Diploma in year 2.A full range of units will be studied. This includes; animal and crop science, animal production systems, soil management, rural business management, estate maintenance and machinery systems.There will also be a suitable period of relevant work experience.Upon completing an agriculture course, students can choose from a wide range of practical career paths within the UK agricultural sector, including farm manager, livestock manager, nutritionist, agronomist, farm consultant, farm inspector and auctioneer.Many of our students progress to higher education either at the College studying the HND in Agriculture course or to other institutions to study other agriculture-related degrees.
