Course Aims
At the end of the course, participants will be able to:
State the principals behind safe manual handling of loads
Demonstrate how to lift, carry and lower all heavy loads within their personal capacity, using aids or assistance as necessary
State the parts of the body which are at risk of injury when lifting incorrectly and the possible injuries that may occur as a result
List the techniques that can be applied to the manual handling of loads in order to achieve economy of effort
Suggest ways in which tasks involving the lifting and moving of heavy loads can be achieved safely and with minimum effort
Explain briefly the risk assessment process in relation to manual handling
