Course overview
This course contains a mix of theory and hands-on practical work that will teach you key health and safety and industry best practice requirements. The training leads to a national competence qualification in your chosen field, opening more opportunities for you.This NPTC 302 module covers the severing of root-plates from windblown or individual uprooted trees using a chainsaw. You will be required to understand and promote health and safety and industry best practice, while also being able to effectively sever uprooted trees with a chainsaw. The trees we will be working with will be intermeshed in a complex way so that you will be required to undertake a planned order of approach to complete the work. The trees will be fully and/or partially uprooted and under and over guidebar length in diameter. We will be learning the proper use of winches or appropriate machinery for the restraint of trees with side tension or where the stem could potentially role.Course Objectives
