PA2 Safe Use Of Pesticides Using Mounted Crop Sprayers

Course overview
This course is the practical qualification that follows on from the PA1 foundation qualification. Based on the National Proficiency Test Council (NPTC), PA2 covers spraying using a wheeled vehicle, such as a tractor mounted boom sprayer or a weed wiper from an ATV. The training will prepare you for the NPTC Certificate of Competence test which allows you to legally carry out pesticide application from a mounted vehicle.

Learn to safely use relevant pesticide application equipment and Identify and select nozzles and carry out machine calibration. We will teach you the correct legislation and codes of practice, how to clean equipment and dispose of unwanted pesticide containers and recognise when spraying is inadvisable.

  • Who Is This Course For?

    Course attendees need to have completed the foundation module PA1 for safe use of pesticide application. The qualification is designed for people wanting to operate a mounted or trailed boom sprayer.

    Attendees must be capable of reading and interpreting product label information, as well as calculate formulae with the use of a calculator. Ability to safely operate the boom sprayer vehicle is also a course prerequisite.
