Course objectives:• How to avoid accidents and carry out an on-site risk assessment• About the relevant legal requirements and how to meet them• How to adjust the cutting mechanisms to give the required standard of cut• The importance of daily checks and routine maintenance• To identify faults and record or report• To operate the mower safely and efficientlyEach course for each type of mower, ie. Ride on or pedestrian cylinder, rotary or flail, covers the following points:• Identify the risks associated with this type of machine• Select appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)• Carry out daily checks as indicated in the operator's manual• Carry out pre-start checks• Identify and report any faults• Adjust the cutting mechanism to achieve the required standard• Operate the machine in a safe and competent manner• Perform after-use maintenance• Understand requirements for traveling on the public road• Be able to load and transport the machine (if appropriate)Personal Protective Equipment for Tractor Driving Courses:• Close fitting overalls• Steel toe capped shoes/boots• Light industrial gloves
