Course overview
The training will provide a full working knowledge of commercial products and application equipment to be able to plan, implement and monitor a control programme appropriate to the situation using efficient and safe methods with regard to the environment. On completion of the training you will be able to recognise the symptoms of phosphine poisoning, be able to apply technical and operational controls to avoid exposure, be able to identify target animals and undertake a survey to determine their presence, interpret product labels, know how to apply a treatment safely and effectively and retain appropriate records. The training is ideal for pest control operatives, game keepers, and people working in agriculture, horticulture and conservation.Course sessions:• Legislation• Safety, exposure prevention and first aid• Environment and wildlife• Label, product container, storage and transportation• Application equipment, handling and disposal of excess pesticide and spillages• Record keepingDuration:1 day course plus a 2 hour assessment on a different day
