The Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 states “It is an offence to intentionally or recklessly take, damage, destroy or interfere with a nest of any wild bird whilst it is in use or being built.”

With this is mind we do not run these courses during the main nesting season; between March and August.

This one day integrated training and assessment programme is for experienced tractor drivers who wish to use a Tractor Mounted Hedge and Verge Cutter. During the assessment process candidates are asked to identify certain tractor instruments / controls and perform maintenance checks.

Topics covered include:

Preparation and maintenance
Site safety
Machinery operation
Hedge trimming
Verge cutting
Ditch or dyke cutting

The training is aimed at operators working in a commercial environment.
