Course overview
The aim of the course is to:-
Provide candidates with the knowledge and understanding of the legal requirements to enable them to follow the procedures for setting out Signing and Guarding of excavation (or other works) on the Highway.
The objectives of the course are to enable candidates to:
Identify various types of signing and guarding Recognise the safety procedures required Assess the legal requirements
Who should attend the course?
Any person who is engaged in any form of works on the highway
Course Summary – the course covers:-
New Roads and Streetworks Act 1991 – Chapter 8 Review the codes of practice Drawing site plans Notices required by local authorities Site surveys Code of Practice – Safety at Streetworks and Roadworks An introduction to the use of vehicle actuated portable traffic signals Practical exercise – erecting signing, lighting and guarding
