City & Guilds NPTC Level 2 Award in The Transport of Animals by Road (Short Journeys) assessment

This qualification aims to provide the learner with the knowledge, skills and understanding to support the transportation of animals by road on short journeys (over 65km and up to 8 hours duration).

Objective - Candidates will be able to:-

  • Understand legal requirements

  • Plan journeys

  • Ascertain vehicle suitability

  • Assess fitness to travel

  • Identify causes and signs of stress in animals

  • Understand space allowances and stocking densities

  • Understand handling and animal welfare in transit and post journey

  • The course fee includes assessment in one category of animal, assessments can be taken in further categories of animal, subject to payment of additional assessment fees.

  • Computer based multiple choice assessment for candidates taking the City & Guilds NPTC Level 2 Award in The Transport of Animals by Road (Short Journeys)

    This cost is per endorsement from Cattle, Cattle & Sheep, Sheep, Pigs, Horses and Goats

    There is no formal attendance for the learning part of this qualification as this is studied by candidates remotely but you will be required to attend our York campus to undertake the on-line exam, which must be undertaken in exam conditions.

    Once payment has been received for the fees, you will be contacted to find out which endorsement you require and some learning materials will be sent to you. A proposed assessment date will also be discussed at that time but, this can be flexible so that it meets your needs.
