Course overview
In accordance with government guidelines, we shall adhere to the current social distancing rules of maintaining 2m apart on all of our courses.If you are involved in the transportation of animals by road on short journeys (over 65km and up to 8 hours duration) this qualification will ensure you meet the requirement for a Certificate of Competence outlined in the Council Regulation (EC) No1/2005 on the Protection of Animals During Transport and the Welfare of Animals. (Transport) Order 2006.Qualification Overview: The qualification is species-specific (e.g. cattle, sheep, goats, pigs, poultry, horses, game birds). It covers the legal requirements, journey planning, vehicle suitability, fitness to travel, causes and signs of stress in animals, space allowances, stocking densities, handling and animal welfare in transit and post journey requirements.’We don’t offer the training at present so these theory tests would be for people who have the relevant knowledge and experience to take the test. The cost is £70 per species and includes certification.Species Modules:Sheep, Cattle, Poultry, Game Birds,Cattle & sheep, Pigs, Horses, Goats.
