Turf Maintenance equipment covers a wide range of machinery including aerators, scarifiers and slitters all of which need skilful operators both on pedestrian controlled machines and tractor mounted equipment. This qualification is designed to assess the professional operator.The qualification will also prove useful to local authorities, public utility companies, golf clubs and other employers in these sectors to demonstrate operator competence.The AssessmentThe assessment establishes that the candidate has the relevant knowledge and understanding as well as the appropriate skill required for the competent safe use of turf maintenance equipment.The assessment is divided into three units:Unit 1 - Pre-Start SafetyUnit 2 - Operate Pedestrian Controlled Turf Maintenance EquipmentUnit 3 - Operate Tractor Mounted Turf Maintenance EquipmentCandidates must successfully achieve:Unit 1 which is compulsory and eitherUnit 2 or Unit 3 which are optional
