Course overview
A vehicle marshal is responsible for the movement of vehicles and plant on a construction site. They help to ensure that vehicles and plant can move around a site safely, taking into account the surrounding hazards, ground conditions and site layout.What does the training course include?
Have a basic understanding of the industry, the dangers of working in the industry and their responsibilities as a vehicle marshalHave knowledge of the equipment to be used and be conversant with methods statements, risk assessments and permits to workIdentify and maintain PPE appropriate for useConduct all necessary safety checks at the work areaAgree communication signal and emergency proceduresGuide machinery in a forward and reverse direction including confined spaces and ‘blind areas’ safely and efficientlyDefine and identify the different types of underground servicesCarry out all end of shift and safe storage procedures
