Arable operator/general farm worker - scottish borders

experienced arable operator/general farm worker required

j*** c***** & sons, based in the scottish borders, are looking to recruit a positive and highly motivated, hard working, trustworthy individual to join their arable and finishing cattle operation.

farming 1900 arable acres main responsibilities would include a mixture of:

- primary cultivations

- drilling with 6m horsch combination/6m horsch sprinter

- spraying with 36m john deere 962i

- spreading fertiliser

- relief combine driving

mechanical experience or an understanding is desirable as you will be required to maintain and upkeep machinery to a high standard.

winter duties will include:

- ploughing

- livestock duties

- general farm maintenance

- loading lorries

- digger work with midi 360 digger

the ideal candidate will have experience of working on arable and livestock farms but training can be provided for the right candidate.

the right candidate will be trust worthy, committed and motivated.

the position is full time and the successful candidate will be expected to work additional hours during busy seasonal periods.

requirements:

- full driving license

- pa 1 & 2 spray certificates preferred but training can be provided for the right candidate

3 or 4 bedroom bungalow on farm available if required.

wage is negotiable based on experience.
