Assistant stockman / tractor driver job - dumfries and galloway

we are seeking a full time farm worker to join our 2500 acre mixed beef and arable farm in south west scotland.

we run a spring calving suckler herd of around 250 cows, with all calves taken through to finishing, with an additional 100 stores bought in annually. the arable operation covers approximately 700 acres of cereals.

this is a varied, hands on role suited to an all-rounder keen to be involved across both livestock and arable enterprises. duties will include all aspects of stock work, with a key role supporting the main stockman during calving and taking responsibility for livestock care during periods of annual leave.

arable and tractor work will include round baling, hauling grain from the combine, rowing up straw and carting bales at harvest. during silage season, responsibilities will include mowing and hauling. additional duties include slurry spreading (tanker) rolling, feeding and bedding cattle, and telehandler work.

the successful candidate must have livestock and tractor driving experience, a full drivers licence, be enthusiastic and hard working.
