we are seeking a reliable and motivated stock person to join a progressive farming operation in nottinghamshire, near colston bassett and leicestershire, near melton mowbray.
the role is primarily focused on a 1,000 head beef finishing unit, with additional seasonal arable responsibilities and occasional support within our 2,000 pig enterprise.
key responsibilities
- daily care and management of beef cattle (finishing cattle aged 12 months - 2 years)
- feeding livestock and monitoring health performance
- bedding down and maintaining clean, comfortable housing
- mucking out and general yard duties
- operating tractors and farm machinery
secondary responsibilities
- grain carting during harvest
- silage carting throughout summer months
- occasional assistance with a 2,000 head pig enterprise when requried
