To catch and move birds in the most effective manner, ensuring high standards of welfare are met and complying with all internal and external Policies, Procedures and Legislation.
Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities
Catching and loading of birds as required for the processing factories
Physically catch and load birds into baskets and modules as requested by the catching foreman
Assist in the preparation of shed for the catch when required
Ensuring that no malpractice takes place in the catching or movement of birds
Taking all reasonable steps to avoid smothers and or any damage to livestock
Assisting to ensure that forklifts are kept clean
Report all accidents without delay to the Catching Foreman.
Report any malpractice, unhygienic or unsafe acts to the Catching Foreman.
Assist in the refuelling of vans and forklifts following every shift
Apply company rules and procedures at all times
Follow Company health and safety and environmental procedures
Observe all hygiene and bio-security precautions
Ensure a clean uniform is worn on every farm and changed at least every day
Undertake any other duties as required to fulfil the needs of the position
Attend training courses which are determined as appropriate by the Company
