Estate Director

A prestigious 8,000-acre Scottish Borders estate is seeking an experienced Estate Director to lead its diversified operations spanning agriculture, forestry, sporting, renewables, and holiday lettings.

The Role:

• Provide strategic leadership across all estate enterprises
• Manage an annual budget of £2m+ and a team of 15 staff
• Oversee 3,000 acres of arable, 2,000 acres of hill grazing, and commercial forestry
• Develop and grow the estate's tourism and renewable energy income streams
• Report directly to the estate owners and trustees

Requirements:

• Significant experience in estate or farm management at a senior level
• Strong commercial and financial acumen
• Knowledge of Scottish land management, CAP payments, and environmental schemes
• Excellent leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
• CARAS or RICS membership desirable

Salary: £70,000 – £85,000 plus 4-bed estate house, vehicle, and performance bonus.
