The Estate are looking for a dedicated, enthusiastic person to join our team here in West Sussex. You must have a willingness to get involved in all aspects of the operations found on a mixed rural Estate. With the introduction of a new cattle herd, recent establishment of new tree planting together with the management of existing woodland we are looking to increase the workforce to join the existing team.
We have 3 separate herds of cattle, two organic longhorn herds and traditional suckler herd with an Angus sire. We are seeking a dedicated individual to join the existing team with a proven proficiency to ensure the health and welfare of the cattle is optimised.
The woodland consists of 700 acres of forestry of which a large proportion is within a woodland management scheme.
Tasks to include:
•Routine care and maintenance of the three cattle herds.
•General maintenance across the whole estate.
•Routine forestry work including plantation maintenance
•General farm work
Skills and Qualifications:
Experience and enthusiasm in all aspects of working with cattle in a farm/rural environment.
Tractor experience, Telehandler ticket, chainsaw ticket would be advantageous but training is available.
Mechanically minded.
Valid driving licence.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
A desire to increase skills, knowledge and experience essential.
