We require an experienced Dairy Herdsperson with a good sense of humour to join our team working various hours to suit seasonal requirements.
300 cow herd + 300 youngstock, Autumn block calving, 20/40 swingover parlour, modern facilities. Always 2 man team in the parlour milking. We milk twice a day at 4am and 2pm.
Role includes fetching cows in from grazing (Spring/Summer grazing, Autumn/Winter housed), milking, feeding, cleaning parlour, mucking out, calving and youngstock rearing, administering medicines, record keeping (so must be number literate), moving fencing for grazing in the summer, carrying heavy feed bags. Vet visits, TB testing, drying off cows, spotting if a cow is sick and acting fast.
Candidate should ideally be able to drive telehandler.
Full time (4 days in the week + every other weekend). Must be available to work alternate weekends.
2 bed flat on farm available if needed. We are 1 mile outside a well serviced village. 7 miles from nearest town.
Job can start as soon as possible.
