Farm foreperson job - lincolnshire

we are a family farm with a suckler herd and sizeable and growing beef fattening operation as well as a successful off farm business. the owner of the business is looking to appoint someone who can action the tasks of the day, through the other members of staff on the farm.

there are only 2 other members of staff on the farm as well as a very hands on owner. its a bit old fashioned now but we are looking for a foreman to instruct, oversee, and complete, the work of the day.

to be successful at this job you will need to be good at communication, well organized, practical and prepared to see a solution when often it looks like there is not one. most important of all, an ability to lead by example and mange people.

this role is very hands-on you will be dong the same work as the other members of staff, the difference is it will be down to you to organize the working environment. you will have access to a vehicle for the working day, that in time may be available for other duties.

we are a well-equipped farm with well-maintained machinery, so an appreciation of basic machinery maintenance would be helpful/essential.

the candidate must have some experience of working with stock. the job is located in and around boston in lincolnshire. please before applying do some homework on the area and in particular the cost of living, rents etc.

working hours, monday to friday 7.30 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. and weekends by agreement.

we would consider appointing on a short term contract should there be an applicant that looking for a step up the ladder or future commitments elsewhere.
