Assist and support with the day to day duties on the farm, ensuring the birds are reared to the highest welfare standards and meet the required specification in terms of welfare, weight, quality and cost efficiency.
Whilst providing assistance to the farm team across a wide variety of farm activities, the Farm Worker role provides an ideal stepping stone to a career in poultry production.
Your Role and Responsibilities
Bird Welfare
Supporting the farm team in the day to day running of the farm to produce chicken to the highest welfare and production standards
Ensure biosecurity measures are adhered to in order to keep the birds free from harmful diseases.
Bird Husbandry
Follow instructions and guidance given by the Farm Manager
Assist in managing the environment of the poultry houses ensuring the birds are kept in the best possible conditions
Assisting in the preparation to receive day old chicks and also to prepare birds to be caught when they are ready to leave the farm
Assisting in the keeping the poultry houses, control rooms and farm tidy and well maintained
Accurate record keeping
Personal Safety
Observe and maintain safe working practices
Ensure protective clothing and masks are worn when appropriate
Ensure Site security is maintained at all times by keeping houses locked and secure
