General farm worker job based in berkshire

arable farm worker / summer student opportunity berkshire

we are a well-established arable contracting business based in berkshire and are looking to recruit either a motivated summer student or a permanent member of staff to join our hardworking and enthusiastic team. we are looking for someone who can start immediately.

the role:

the role will involve every aspect of working on an all-arable farm, including:

operating modern farm machinery.

maintenain and care of our machinery and equipment.

cultivations.

planting and drilling.

rolling.

spraying.

fertiliser application.

hedge cutting.

general farm and seasonal duties.

no two days are the same, and the successful candidate will gain experience across all aspects of our farming operation.

about you

we are looking for a conscientious individual with a positive, can-do attitude who is self-motivated and takes pride in their work.

you will:

hold a full uk driving license (essential).

ideally have at least 2 years' experience operating farm machinery.

have practical mechanical skills and an interest in machinery maintenance.

be able to work effectively as part of a team.

maintain high standards of workmanship and attention to detail.

be reliable, hardworking and willing to learn.

pa1 and pa2 certificates would be beneficial but are not essential, as training can be provided for the right candidate.

we work as a team and help each other out whenever needed. the hours are seasonal, with the busy periods requiring commitment and flexibility, while quieter times of the year are generally more relaxed and offer greater flexibility.
