General farm worker job, experienced with livestock for mixed organic farm - devon

we are hoping to find someone with a good eye for livestock who also has a passion for organic and sustainable farming. we are offering an opportunity to be part of our farming enterprise between now and january 2027 with the possibility of a longer term arrangement.

we are an organic family farm with 25 suckler cows and 125 ewes, all progeny sold finished. we have a unique turkey enterprise breeding and rearing organic norfolk black turkeys. stubble turnips are grown for the sheep and spring oats are grown for the turkeys. we have a large amount of hedge laying planned which will be part of the winter work. hedge laying and chainsaw training/certificate available for the right candidate if required.

in this role you will:

assist with the sheep flock, suckler herd and turkey enterprise (including turkey processing at christmas).

be a competent tractor driver for a variety of tasks including loader work and winter yard work.

carry out hedge laying and firewood processing.

be prepared to undertake a variety of farm jobs including hands-on manual work.

be able to communicate with ease with other team members.

hours: 40 hours per week, to include some weekend and evening work. rota flexible and to be discussed.
