the role

we are a progressive, 2500-sow modern breeding herd using all adaptive farrowing systems. as our business continues to develop, we are looking for a motivated "extra pair of hands" to join our close-knit team.

this isn't a "stuck in one corner" kind of job. we pride ourselves on a fair workload where everyone mucks in with all tasks on the unit.

your responsibilities

youll be splitting your time between high-standard stockmanship and keeping the farm running smoothly:

pig husbandry: general work across the pig unit.

maintenance: assisting with in-house maintenance and building projects. the adaptive farrowing on site is the farropen system, which has been developed on-farm and is now being sold to other farmers too. there are a good few projects ongoing on the farm to constantly try and improve the unit.

we care more about attitude and reliability than a cv full of certificates. youll be a great fit if:

youre mechanically minded: you enjoy fixing things and dont mind getting your hands dirty with building repairs or maintenance tasks.

youre local(ish): based near york or willing to commute to a site just outside the city.
