We are a busy, progressive family farm in south Oxfordshire and hope to offer the right candidate a mix of activities across the enterprises.
A significant role with responsibilities would be assisting the pig manager, covering holiday and working every other weekend on the pig unit.
Other work would include pig and sheep handling, lambing duties, tractor work including corn cart, bale cart, cultivations, loading and spreading FYM and slurry, building and machinery maintenance, fencing, and using the in-house mill and mix for pig feed.
We rear and finish 400 pigs per week on a dry fed, indoor slatted system. We farm 600 ewes and are gradually moving away from indoor lambing towards outdoor lambing, rearing lambs on grass and selling them over the year.
We undertake almost all field work ourselves with our team of four employees including all cultivations, drilling, spraying, combining, mowing, muck and slurry spreading.
We are a well-equipped farm with a modern fleet of machinery including of New Holland tractors and machinery. There are new grain handling facilities, and new weaner-finisher accommodation for the pigs.
A full, clean UK driving licence is required, telehandler certificates desirable, accommodation available for the right candidate.
