who we are

were a farmer-owned grain cooperative based near chichester, west sussex, storing 25,000 tonnes of cereals and oilseeds for both human and animal consumption.

our yard team is at the heart of site operations, and were looking for a grain yard operative to join us during our busiest periods.

what youll be doing

as a yard operative, youll be working as part of a busy, hands-on team.

your tasks will include:

•assisting with grain intake and outloading

•directing vehicles safely around the site

•operating grain dryers, servicing and light repairs on machinery

•carrying out general yard duties and housekeeping

•working closely with the laboratory team

•following all health and safety and site procedures

were looking for someone reliable, practical, and willing to get stuck in.

we are looking for someone who is:

•hard-working and happy working outdoors in all weather

•reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious

•comfortable working as part of a team and on your own

•able to follow instructions and site procedures

•prepared to work long hours during busy periods, including weekends

•mechanically minded and has confidence carrying out minor maintenance tasks

•+18 years old

its a bonus if you have:

•experience in agriculture

•a loading shovel or telehandler ticket

•experience working in a fast-paced or seasonal environment

contract length & seasonal work

this is a seasonal role, with the main workload running from june through to september during harvest.

hours during harvest are typically 40+ per week, including weekend work. outside peak periods, hours are reduced and more regular.
