steanbow farms is seeking an experienced head herdsperson for the south west dairy development centre to work within our 200-cow herd, milked through 3 lely a5 robots with robotic scrapers and feeder.

key responsibilities:

• day-to-day herd management, health and fertility

• monitoring robotic milking efficiency, cow flow & robot kpis

• managing tmr feeding, yield performance & nutrition

• milk quality, hygiene, welfare & regulatory standards

• routine tasks to include general cleanliness of the facility

• upholding safety, biosecurity & welfare best practice

ideal candidate profile:

• experience in modern dairy herd management (robotic preferred not necessary)

• strong herd health understanding

• confident with digital tools, software & data interpretation

• able to work within a team

• passionate about animal welfare
