a hugely exciting opportunity has arisen for a lead arable operator to join a small team in aberdeenshire. this challenging role will see the successful candidate jointly oversee an extensive arable enterprise alongside the farm manager, while also assisting with a developing vegetable operation.
t****** farms operates a progressive in-hand farming enterprise extending to around 1,600 acres of quality arable land in the howe of the mearns. the role will involve all key arable operations, including sowing, spraying, and harvesting.
in recent years, the business has diversified to include a growing vegetable enterprise, currently comprising 180 acres of broccoli, with plans for further expansion. in addition, the business is in the process of establishing a dedicated facility for housing laying hens and producing high-quality eggs. the lead arable operator may be required to support these operations as needed.
the successful candidate will be capable of managing, organising, and administering the arable enterprise, demonstrating excellent arable husbandry and strong technical knowledge. they will be expected to lead from the front, work to high standards, and maintain a tidy, organised approach across all aspects of the role. a strong sense of pride in both their work and the wider business is essential.
a driving licence is required. possession of pa1, pa2, and forklift certification would be advantageous, although tulloch farms will support the successful candidate in obtaining additional qualifications where necessary.
