W*** Farm is a mixed farm with an organic dairy herd and some arable. The herd consists of 150 organic Guernsey cows and 50 young stock.
We have an exiting general farm worker full time job available at the farm. The role is part of a team of 3 people at the farm. It is very diverse and consists of the following:
- Operating the newly installed Lely milking robots
- Calf feeding
- Tractor driving (bedding and feeding, field work)
- Working in our milk processing unit (bottling milk etc).
The successful applicant must be someone who has a passion for working with livestock and dairy cows but also must be competent with farm machinery and tractors. We are looking for someone with good experience with both livestock and tractor driving.
We operate a four day on, two day off shift pattern with shifts of 9 hours per day.
The start times will vary but will mostly be 07:00 - 19:00 with a 1 hour lunch break. There will also be night time cow checking responsibilities which are done on a rota.
Without accommodation the wage is £15/h. If accommodation is required this can be discussed and rent agreed as part of the salary.
