We are located on the Lincolnshire Wolds near the town of Alford, between Louth and Skegness. It comprises 1,200ha of arable land plus two contract farming arrangements of another 300ha. The farm operates within a five mile radius, from the Wellbeck Grain Store site.
The farm operates a wide range of modern machinery, growing feed wheat, malting barley, oilseed rape, beans and vining peas alongside an extensive Countryside Stewardship and SFI scheme.
There is a central storage facility of 7,500t plus a further 2,500t store in Willoughby village. The estate also has 200ha of commercial woodland, a small family shoot and a residential property portfolio.
The team currently consists of two full-time members of staff, but we require an additional full-time person to play a vital role within the business. We are looking for a candidate that wants to build a long term career within the estate.
The successful candidate must be of friendly nature, driven and self-motivated and have exceptional levels of attention to detail. The role includes but is not limited to:
-Main Quadtrac 620 operator to perform all drilling and cultivation tasks.
-Cultivating using a range of modern machinery including a Farmet Fantom, Farmet Softer, Sumo LDS, Cultipress and a Lemken Semi-mounted plough.
-Drilling using a Vaderstad Rapid and Horsch Sprinter.
-Fertiliser spreading using a Case Optum and Amazone spreader.
-Other duties will include relief spraying, telehandler operation and general farm/estate work when required.
Previous drilling experience and good workshop skills are necessary.
PA1, PA2, PA4 and a telehandler ticket would be advantageous, but training can be provided to the right candidate.
