We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Shepherd/ Stock person.
C*** P*** Farm is a 585ha farm, located near Rothbury, Northumberland. We are an
upland breeding farm with a strong focus on pasture management and producing
quality stock on a pasture-based system.
Stock includes
2000 sheep comprising of Lleyn, NZ Romney and Easycare with a plan to move to a full
flock of Easycare sheep. 120 Angus breeding cows, which are outwintered and 100 Red
deer Hinds, however these are currently being phased out to increase the cow herd. All
sheep are lambed outside along with some of the cattle.
Job Summary
We require a self-motivated and energetic individual to help with the
day to day running of the farm. Applicants must have:
• Decent Craic!
• Good level of stockmanship and animal health skills
• Strong attention to detail and tidiness
• Capable of working alone and within a small team
• At least one working dog
• Capable of operating modern, well maintained machinery
Desirable
• An interest in rotational grazing, stock shifts and electric fencing
• An interest in sheep and cattle genetics
• An ambition to progress and take on responsibility
