Stockperson Suckler and Finishing Enterprise
Were looking for a reliable, hardworking stockperson to join our progressive suckler and finishing enterprise.
About the Farm
Our herd comprises around 400 cows, with all progeny retained and finished on farm. Calving takes place in April/May and August/September, with minimal intervention. Replacements are homebred using Angus and Stabiliser genetics, aiming to develop easy-calving, low-input cows without compromising carcass quality.
Cattle are finished as both bulls and steers, with bullocks grazing for a second summer before housing on a finishing ration. We operate a rotational grazing system and continue to invest in infrastructure to support this.
Alongside the cattle enterprise, we grow our own cereal and forage crops to remain feed self-sufficient typically 150 acres of barley and oats, and 50 acres of kale or other forage crops. All drilling is done in-house using a Claydon drill, and a Claas Medion combine is used for both our own and local harvesting work.
The farm benefits from modern buildings and first-class cattle handling facilities.
Your Role
This is a varied, hands-on position that will include:
•All aspects of stock husbandry
•Routine cattle health treatments and weight recording
•Feeding and bedding using a diet feeder and straw bedder
•General maintenance, fencing, and farm improvement projects
•Tractor work throughout the year cultivations, slurry, grain haulage, and bale handling

About You
