An exciting opportunity has arisen for an innovative, enthusiastic and experienced person to join us on our mixed livestock hill farm, in the beautiful Tay Valley, Perthshire, Scotland.
We are looking to appoint a stockperson into the farming operation which currently encompasses 3500Ha of farmland, 280 breeding cows and 1700 breeding ewes over two farming operations. We are also involved in two other grazing operations off farm, with a continuing eye on business expansion.
We are looking to put in place a progressive thinking team player who will add to the well-established ethos and upbeat culture that already exists within the Rotmell Farming family. The person in this role will display leadership ability, be a keen problem solver, focused on efficiency and take a hands-on approach to task management. An ability to be self-driven and demonstrate initiative is a must.
You will be able to demonstrate:
•An understanding of pastoral agriculture and its practical application.
•Excellent stockmanship skills, encompassing animal welfare to the highest standard.
•Experience in building livestock fencing, both permanent and temporary systems.
•Infrastructure management ability, including farm machinery.
•An understanding of nutrition and optimising its potential.
•Managing pasture for landscape and stock health.
•IT knowledge to collect farm management information and process through apps/farm management software, including grass growth, live weight data and vet & med records.
•Tractor/Forklift/ATV/RTV experience is essential.
•Ensuring a happy and collaborative working environment, effectively communicating with all people.
•A high attention to detail and a willingness to learn and apply that knowledge diligently.
•A farm upbringing is desirable, but not essential.
•Full clean drivers licence is essential.
