Stockperson job required for progressive modern dairy unit - somerset

we are looking for a full time stockperson to join our small team.

milking 250 high yeilding pedigree and comercial holsteins through 4 lely robots.

key responsibilities

* assisting with the management and welfare of the dairy herd

* monitoring cow health, fertility and performance

* general stockperson duties including calf rearing, bedding, collecting cows and youngstock care

* identifying and treating sick animals ( training can be provided)

* maintaining a clean and safe working enviroment

* basic machinery operation ( feeding, scraping ect)

requirements

* previous experience with dairy cattle.

* a strong work ethic and willingness to learn.

* ability to work inderpendently and as part of a team

* good stockmanship skills and attention to animal welfare.

* good time keeping
