2008 export success continues

"With the record 2008 UK wheat harvest of over 17 million tonnes, our export programme is providing a major outlet for our farmer customers around the UK," says David Sheppard, Gleadell’s managing director. "This shipment of 3,347mt of milling wheat out of Grimsby, bound for Barletta in Italy, will be the 134th vessel we have handled since the beginning of July."

"So far this season Gleadell have exported nearly 500,000 tonnes of UK milling wheat, feed wheat, feed barley, malting barley, oilseed rape and beans to sixteen countries throughout Europe and north Africa from fourteen ports around the UK - including Immingham, Grimsby and Lowestoft on the east coast - as well as south coast ports such as Dover and Southampton," Mr Sheppard added.
