62-year old farmer in hospital after tractor crashes into tree in Aberdeenshire

A 62-year old farmer has been taken to hospital after his tractor crashed into a tree in Drumlithie, Aberdeenshire.

Rescue services arrived at the scene and freed the man from his Claas vehicle where he was then taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.

A police spokesman said the traffic collision occurred on the unclassified road between Glenbervie and Drumlithie, Aberdeenshire, near Milton Park Farm, whereby a tractor left the road and came into a ditch.

"The 62-year-old male driver of the tractor is currently being treated for serious injuries at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary."

A fire and rescue spokeswoman said: "We were in attendance. We had our Laurencekirk appliance and our Stonehaven appliance mobilised to that.

"There was a person trapped. When we got there the casualty had been removed. Small gear was used.”

An ambulance spokeswoman said: "We got the call at 10.11am to the Milton Park area. A double accident and emergency crew and officer attended within seven minutes.

"We did take a male passenger to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary after assessing him."
