A Bigger Punch From Sheep Booster Drench
The Denis Brinicombe Group have again moved ahead with improvements to their Ex-Sel Ewe and Lamb booster drench.
The improved product, now renamed Ex-Sel Ewe and Lamb Advance, has the added advantages of increased levels of protected Cobalt, up by 50%, the Selenium content has been raised by 7% and levels of protected Zinc are increased by 33%. Biotin has been added to the ingredients at a level that put it amongst the highest, if not unique, concentration available in today's market.
"The original Ewe and Lamb drench has been a very successful product in the Denis Brinicombe range but the new superior drench will give improved results," said James Brinicombe, Director, "Our drenching programme is based on only three treatments per year, 20ml per ewe pre-tupping and pre-lambing with the lambs getting 10ml at weaning. That's all they need to improve flock production. We always aim to produce a quality product and I believe we have the best there is in Ex-Sel Ewe and Lamb Advance."
Cobalt levels have been increased as the effect of this element on the synthesis of vitamin B¹², which plays an essential part in the energy metabolism process in sheep, is so important for the growth of the lamb and the fitness of the ewe.
Selenium is seen as such an important factor, in combination with Vitamin E, in the improvement of early lamb survival rates and the speed at which lambs start to suckle that the opportunity was taken to increase the levels in the drench.
Zinc levels are up because it is such an important element in the overall wellbeing of the animal as well as having an effect on improving hoof integrity. Biotin has also been included as an additional hoof condition improver.
Moreover, the product includes high levels of a full range of trace elements and vitamins along with three sources of energy, which help the digestive system to absorb all the constituents quickly and efficiently.
Based on natural seaweed extract Ex-Sel Ewe and Lamb Advance is grit free thus preventing the drenching gun blockages associated with some other trace element drenches.
