A little help for struggling farm families

EYRE Peninsula farming families struggling through the drought may have a happier Christmas this year with a little help from an Aussie Helper.

Former farmer Brian Egan lost his farm in 1999 from a combination of drought and depression, and he has used his own experiences to lift the spirits of farmers affected by drought through Aussie Helpers.

Since he established Aussie Helpers in 2002 it has grown to about 40 volunteers and 12 vehicles, who go out to find farming families in need of assistance and meet them face-to-face to find out what they can do to help.
