A Rare Treat for Local Family and You at The Royal Show

The whole family including 2 year old daughter are working together to bring you the new taste sensation of breed specific meats from Woodbine Farm, Grandborough Fields, Warwickshire..

During the first week in July setting up a stall and selling produce at a local show is something thousands of farmers and food producers will be doing up and down the country, but not all have the support of the Royal Agricultural Society of England, the great and good of British Agriculture and an estimated 100,000 visitors to The Royal Show 2008 who will be able to taste, buy and order Woodbine Meats.

"We have been producing commercial livestock for generations and I have always kept a few pure breeds, we like the Manx Loaghtan sheep as our family are originally from the Isle of Man, the Dexter cattle are lovely animals and the Tamworth pigs are a welcome addition to the farm." Farmer Jeff Clarke clearly takes great care of his animals.

"We started putting a few through for meat, really for friends and family" adds Ann-Marie, busy wife and mother who now runs the meat sales and still manages to work at a solicitors in town. "It is the flavour of the meat that is so wonderful, people keep coming back for more, it has really taken off and it will soon be another full time job"

Happy customers include discerning chefs like Chris von Landkammer of The Peartree Inn, Chris reports "I put Woodbine Dexter Beef and now Manx Loaghtan Lamb on the specials menus and it is really popular, Jeff and Anne-Marie are great to work with and I get to buy whole carcases which is cost effective and the flavour of the meat is exquisite"

The on farm butchery is run by a local young female butcher, Jeanette Pantony whose skills and attention to detail offer customers a truly bespoke service. "it's great working with this meat it is so tender and I like the variety of breeds and cuts"

"Because we all know and talk to each other regularly, we provide a flexible quality service unlike big corporate businesses, we can just pick up the phone and sort things out" says Ann-Marie whose orders range from a small roasting joint for someone in the village to a whole beast cut to the customers specification.

"As we run this enterprise alongside our commercial herds we share economies of scale enabling the costs to be kept realistic for what is a top grade premium product."

"We are looking forward to The Royal Show, it really is our local show, I'm here at Stoneleigh every week now the new livestock market is open onsite and it will be great to talk to customers and give out samples and recipes – so come and see us at our stand No 140 in the Food Hall, we look forward to meeting you"
