After-sales role for Tim Miller

Tim Miller is taking on an after-sales role for pig housing made by Staffordshire-based ARM Buildings, including the Trobridge range.

His new responsibilities will include commissioning the piggeries and training producers and staff how to use them correctly. The environmentally-controlled ARM piggeries are supplied with a free 12-month subscription to the monitoring system, Barn Report, which — via Dicam controllers — picks up any problems and shows if the piggery is functioning efficiently.

"With the high cost of feed it is more important than ever that pig producers ensure that their pig houses are performing to their full potential," he said.

Tim, who is livestock environment specialist with the A Proctor Group, the parent company of ARM Buildings, has a wealth of practical and technical experience within the pig industry. He worked on, and managed, commercial units and held a post with an international breeding company before joining the MLC as a pig specialist based at the NAC pig demonstration unit at Stoneleigh, where he was in charge of all trial work and unit visits.

Latterly he has focused on ventilation, specialising in fully-controlled and ACNV systems and the use of polythene low-volume ducting, particularly useful in 'difficult' converted buildings. For this reason he is often called upon in a trouble-shooting role.

ARM Buildings took over the manufacturing rights of the Trobridge system in 2005.
