AHDB to cut three director posts in leadership restructure

Three senior director posts are being cut at AHDB by the end of the year as the levy body moves to simplify its leadership structure.

The Centre of Excellence Director, Market Development and Communications Director and Farming Systems Director roles will all be made redundant following a leadership review and consultation.

AHDB stressed that the move is limited to its senior leadership arrangements, with its wider strategy, services and purpose remaining unchanged.

The organisation said the changes are intended to create “a simpler leadership structure, with clearer accountability and closer alignment between decision-making, specialist expertise and the priorities of our sectors and levy payers”.

The move is being described as a targeted change rather than a broader reorganisation of AHDB.

The levy body said it will continue to focus on supporting British agriculture and delivering value from every levy pound invested.

The three affected colleagues will remain with AHDB over the coming months while responsibilities are transferred.

AHDB said this would help ensure “a smooth transition and effective handover of responsibilities”.

The changes are expected to be completed by the end of 2026.
