Aid package prepared for farmers

A substantial package of aid is being prepared for the sheep farming industry in Scotland.

Agriculture secretary Richard Lochhead told industry leaders in Edinburgh that he hopes to announce the details to the Scottish Parliament on Wednesday.

He said it should be the UK Government compensating farmers for the losses suffered as a result of the foot-and-mouth outbreak in England.
